Happy Summer, Lovelies! I’m going to be participating in some fun blog hops this summer, and the first up is “A Day in the Life of a New Adult Author.” Each week you’ll get to meet a different author and hear about how they spend a typical day. It’s a fun way to find new authors, new books, and learn about just how strange writers really are! So check back here every Wednesday (you’ll see the posts on other authors’ sites different days of the week) for all the fun!
This week’s author is Delancey Stewart, author of A RARE VINTAGE (Wine Country Romance series):
Today is: Tuesday, 7 May
I woke up at: 7 AM, but not willingly. Never willingly.
What I ate for breakfast: Two yummy pancakes made by my son. Unless my trainer is reading this, in which case. . .yogurt.
Most interesting thing I did today: I finally named my upcoming short for the anthology ETERNAL SUMMER and finalized the cover.
Least interesting thing I did today: Folded laundry. But not willingly. Never willingly.
No one knows…the trouble I’ve seen?
My pets are: oh my Lord. The pet question. There are six of them. They are needy, but clearly superior to everyone else in the house.
When I’m bored, I tend to: what is this ‘bored’ of which you speak?
For lunch, I had: sliced beets with goat cheese. Yum!
My current mood is: just teetering on exhaustion.
I worked on/for: promotion for five different book tours, editing for three Hayson books, finishing my short story (see above), wrote some of my contemporary romance, did preliminary work for the book fest we’re putting on. . .oh, and laundry.
My biggest pet peeve is: grammar and the improper use of it.
When I drive, people think: get the heck out of her way!
I get easily distracted by: social media, because it is sort of work. . .but then there’s the pictures of cats. . .
Dinner was: eggplant lasagna made by my awesome daughter.
My favorite movie is: When Harry Met Sally OR The Princess Bride
In my spare time, I like to: sleep.
Today I worked for/on: isn’t this the same question above? Or is it a trick question??
When I need to get into the writing mood, I: go to Starbucks, put on my headphones and listen to music.
I decided to be an author because: I had stories to tell, and I couldn’t get enough people to sit down and listen as long as I wanted to talk. Writing seemed more efficient.
