Happy New Year!

Champagne bottle ready for celebration

It’s that time again — take stock, evaluate, assess, plan, resolve. So, here I am, mere hours before the New Year. And what can I say about 2013? Well, to start with, it wasn’t even a year ago when I published my first book! Since then, Camouflaged has made the Amazon Top 50 Paid in Military Romance and the Top 5 Free in Military Romance, Hidden has made the Amazon Top 5 Free in Military Romance and Top 100 Paid in Military Romance, and Concealed has stayed in the Top 5 Paid of Hispanic fiction since it’s release on December 18th, as well as made the Top 50 Paid of Multicultural & Interracial Romance.

Can I just say: What. A. Rush. When I started this, I had no idea my year would end up this way. I’ve got readers, I’ve got a Street Team, I’ve got all sorts of people who support me and work closely with me. I’ve got five star reviews (lots of them!), I’ve got paperback books and ebooks, and an editor and a cover artist, and a really fabulous formatter. I am so overwhelmed with the abundance that some days I can hardly believe this is my job. 2013 definitely makes my shortlist along with things like the year I married Mr L (and yes, he’s okay with that!).

On a personal level, 2013 saw both of my older kids settled and happy, one just out of college and one in his junior year. My 15 year old started high school and loves it, my 10 year old is a wiggling, chattering, ball of nonstop energy. Everyone was healthy, everyone got good grades, a mom can’t ask for much more.

So, I am blessed, I am thrilled, I am absolutely ecstatic about 2014. I have a whole new series beginning (Lush) as well as the final Hiding From Love novel (Buried). That’s four full-length novels and a novella right there. My guess is I’ll also be writing a YA novel, which may or may not be the start of a series. I’ve promised my daughter and some of the less adventurous members of the family I’ll write something they can read, and I deeply love YA, so it seems like the perfect fit.

I hope that your 2013 was a spectacular one as well. And most of all, I hope that your 2014 is the best it can possibly. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. For your love, your positive energy, your friendship and your passion for reading. Blessings to each and every one of you!

Love, Selena
